My name is Brittney Fournier and I am from Milford, NH. I am a recent graduate of Keene State College and will be receiving a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with an instrumental focus upon completion of student teaching in early December of 2013.
My musical beginnings consist of an interest in playing the flute in the fourth grade at Jacques Memorial Elementary School in Milford, NH and I have been active in music ever since. I graduated from Milford High School in June of 2008, took a year off from school for military training, and began my college education at Keene State College in the fall of 2009. In my time at Keene State I was involved in many ensembles including flute ensemble, saxophone ensemble, jazz ensemble, chorus, and concert band. In the spring of 2013, I was fortunate enough to be the student conductor for the saxophone ensemble. I also spent time during each summer as a marching instructor for the Milford High School Marching Spartans (the very same high school that I graduated from).
As a current member of the New Hampshire Army National Guard, I pride myself in following the Army’s values, LDRSHIP, which stands for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Although my military commitment is one weekend a month and two weeks out of the summer, I apply those values to all aspects of my life. I am a dedicated, passionate, and motivated individual. I will put all my effort into the success and positive educational experience of the students I teach. I believe that all students should have the ability to join a quality music program and come out of that program as a strong, well rounded student, musician, and citizen of the community.
It is my goal to bring my experience and knowledge to the community inside the music department, the school as a whole, and the community outside of the school of whichever district I may become employed in. I want to bring my passion for music, my dedication to the students in my program and all involved in the education of the whole child, and my enthusiasm for education to a district.
I greatly look forward to starting the next chapter in my life as a certified music educator.
